Photographic Safari – Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia
January 27–30, 2027
The spectacular and one-of-a-kind Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta rises directly from the Caribbean coast of Colombia, making it a truly unique destination.
We will be picked up at Santa Marta Airport at 3:00 pm and transferred directly to Mountain House Hotel. Upon arrival, you will have time to acclimate after your flight. In the afternoon, we will photograph birds around the hotel, and in the evening we will gather for a welcome dinner before resting in our comfortable rooms.
The following day, we will depart the hotel at 4:00 am to visit the highest part of the mountain in order to photograph the sunrise and its breathtaking landscapes. We will witness the highest sunrise in Colombia, on the highest coastal mountain range in the world.
We will return to the hotel around lunchtime, and afterward continue photographing birds at the feeder.
On the next day, we will enjoy a boat navigation along the Don Diego River, where we will spot and photograph howler monkeys and aquatic birds.
Activities will conclude on January 30 after breakfast.
Photography Experience
During the Photographic Safari, you will learn to master photography in a practical and efficient way, achieving concrete results up to 100% faster compared to learning based solely on theory.
You will gain full control of your camera, capture stunning images of nature, improve your technique, and learn how to professionally edit your photographs to stand out in the photography world.
Throughout the safari, you will be accompanied by expert guides with deep knowledge of the area and its wildlife, ensuring access to the best locations at the perfect moments to capture unique images.
But this experience goes beyond technical skills. You will be with me, receiving personalized guidance to refine every aspect of your photography—building confidence, learning to make quick decisions in the field, and feeling capable of facing any photographic challenge.
You will also discover how to transform your passion into something greater. I will share what I have learned about photography as a profession: how to build a purposeful portfolio, how to value your work, and how to explore paths toward making a living doing what you love.
